  • The chief minister visited three main cities of California in United States of America between 12 and 18 October 2011.
  • Visited California capital ‘Sacramento’, commercial city Los Angeles and Information Technology hub San Francisco.
  • Presented Chhattisgarh as one of the most important states in India in front of global economic forum.
  • Apprised industrialists, investors and NRI’s about the development and achievements of Chhattisgarh as a new state in past eleven years.
  • Drew attention towards environment-related development opportunities in Chhattisgarh’s geographical and natural conditions.
  • Studied the life-style of American society in social, economical, political and geographical conditions
  • Went to various tourist places in America such as Golden Gate Bridge, Murwoods and ‘Silicon Valley’ and studied their development process.  
  • Economic forum that agreed to environment-related development were informed about investment opportunities in Chhattisgarh.
  • Assessment of possibilities of investment in the field of Information technology, bio technology, food preservation and development of non-renewable energy and resources to woo investors. Research work on possibilities of bringing more downstream industries so that more employment opportunities could be generated.   
  • Assessment of global progressive society’s response on the state’s efforts to deal with traditional, economic and social challenges. Economic forum agreed to the state’s strategy of using more and more resources for the welfare of the people in order to bring economic reform.
  • Assessment of possible support towards construction of social and economic infrastructure.
  • A courtesy call on Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg in ‘Sacramento’ (CA) and discussion on mutual co-operation between California and Chhattisgarh in the field of development, possibilities of investment in the field of Information Technology (IT), Bio Technology and Engineering industry.
  • Steinberg applauded the chief minister for social and economic development of Chhattisgarh in different fields in a short span of 11 years and also appreciated his leadership.
  • Chief Minister Raman Singh met Non-Resident Indians in San Francisco. Acting consulate general of India General Kumar Juhin organised a dinner in honour of Dr Raman Singh at San Francisco.
  • Visited 161-year-old Senate House in California Assembly ‘Sacramento’.
  • Attended a function organised by Chhattisgarh Association of North America President Ravi Mishra and paid a courtesy call.
  • A meeting with top businessmen and industrialists in Silicon Valley. Discussion on  mutual co-operation in the field of development, possibilities of investment in the field of Information Technology (IT), Bio Technology and Engineering industry.
  • Invited representatives of ‘Silicon Valley’ to visit Chhattisgarh for research work.
  • Chief Minister Raman Singh addressed investors during a meet organised by the US-India Business Council (USIBC) in Sheraton, Cerritos and Los Angeles.
  • More than 100 dignitaries of the business world and NRI’s gave encouraging response to Chhattisgarh’s journey towards development and its future plans.
  • USIBC President Mr. Alexander, Asia Strategic Initiative President David Karp, Biocon President George Gagneja, Charles of Diagnostics, D C Global Partner Chairman Simon, Dhirendra Shah of DNS architect, Gunjan Baghela of Amrit Venture and various other dignitaries were present in the meeting.
